1. Hire a web design company

If you decide to go this way, be prepared to pay a lot of money upfront, depending on complexity of the project and the rates of designers and hosting company. Usually, a small website without any significant features will start at $300 USD and can go up to thousands of dollars as you add contact forms, galleries, online store, etc. Any changes to the site are slow and you pay money for every little change. The most important, you are not really in any control, and you have little flexibility. The advantage could be that in the hands of good designers and programmers you can create something exclusive and special. But again, good designers cost good money.

2. Do-It-Yourself

Mex.tl is a unique Do-It-Yourself online web design and publishing system. All you need to do is create an account, pick a good domain name, choose a template (that you can customize), and start adding content, photo and video galleries, online store, guestbook, blog, contact form, map, and a lot of other widgets. It is fast (almost instant), easy (anyone can do it) and free. We do have some paid features, such as choosing a premium .com domain, or adding e-mail accounts (@yourdomain.com). Most sites created with Mex.tl look better than designer-built sites, because our customizable templates are designed by top-notch designers

With Mex.tl you can easily create and maintain your own website absolutely free. To offset the costs associated with web hosting and maintenance, free websites may display some limited advertising. Advertising can always be removed if you upgrade your service. Also, Mex.tl offers some paid options, such as premium domain names and e-mail accounts.

You only have to enter www.mex.tl and sign up for free.

Your site can be shown as on of the folowing URLs: "yourname.mex.tl", "yourname.pagina.gr", "yourname.infored.mx" or "yourname.webpin.com", depending on what you pick when you sign up.

If you want to have a more professional site, you can have your own domain, e.g., www.yourname.com and use e-mail accounts with your domain and much more benefits by upgrading your domain.

This can be done in your admin panel.

To register, you need to fill out the Registration Form.

Make sure you enter your e-mail account accurately. Your account will not be active till you verify your e-mail address.

When you register you set your own settings for your new website and we verify that you are a real person with a real e-mail.

It is very important that you put your e-mail correctly, otherwise you won't receive a verification e-mail and your account will not be active.

Yes, registration is free because Mex.tl is a free system, unless you want to buy one of our premium feature, such as a premium domain name or e-mail accounts.

Once you have registered for free with Mex.tl, you will receive a verification e-mail.

Follow the steps detailed in the e-mail to activate your account.

If you do not receive the verification e-mail, you can contact support to activate your account manually: support@mex.tl

(Please indicate your e-mail and the domain name that you chose to create your new account).

An account, is your combination of e-mail/password that allows you to login to your admin panel (http://www.mex.tl/en/login.php) and create/edit your website.

We have a policy: 1 account per one e-mail. We really want our system to be used by people/companies for their own websites, and not by spammers to create multiple websites with one account. If you are a web-design company, and need to be able to create multiple websites for your clients with one account, please contact us with such request: support@mex.tl

We prohibit content and activity that:

a. may constitute or contribute to a crime;

b. is illegal, hateful, invasive of personal privacy, humiliating to other people;

c. infringes or violates someone else's rights;

d. obscures the advertisements we serve on your Website;

e. makes automated use of the system, such as using scripts, bots, spiders or scrapers, to send messages, log into accounts, or collect information;

f. facilitates or encourages any violation of Terms of Service.

You are given 50 Megs of space fore free. If you need more, you can upgrade the service.

It is very easy to add content to your website in Mex.tl.

There are different types of content:

1. Regular Pages are simple HTML pages with content that you can add to your website, such as "About Us". These pages can added or edited in your admin panel in the section My Pages. Just click on "Add New Page" button to add a new page to your website.

2. Widgets / Special Pages are pages or tools with special purpose, such as your photo gallery, guestbook, contact page, online store, blog, etc. Any widget or special page can be enabled and configured in your Admin Panel

Home page is the first page that a visitor sees when he comes to your website, e.g. www.yoursite.mex.tl.

When you sign-up with Mex.tl, your home page is generated automatically. To edit it you need to:

1. Login to Admin Panel

2. Got to My Pages

3. Edit your Home Page

HTML (HyperText Markup Language) is a computer language devised to allow web page creation.

Mex.tl system allows its users to insert HTML-code into pages. Any time you add or edit a page you have an option to switch to HTML mode.

To edit in HTML:

1. Login to Admin Panel

2. Got to My Pages

3. Choose to add or edit a page

4. At the bottom of "Page content" text field there are 2 tabs: "Design" and "HTML". Choose "HTML" if you wish to edit in HTML-mode.

You can easily find in Google simple HTML commands and start creating beautiful HTML pages in no time.

If you do not wish to use HTML, leave the tab in "Design" mode, and you can add content using our easy-to-use editor.

We do not recommend it. If you simply copy and paste content from your Word doccument into your page editor in Mex.tl - the resulting web page may not look the same way as your Word doccument.

We do not recommend it. The HTML code from another website may not look the same when you simply paste it into Mex.tl page editor.Also, the images will probably be shown as "broken images".

Yes, you can add JavaScript to your pages. Make sure you switch to HTML-mode your editor before you add any JavaScript code.

Please be sure what you are doing.

If you add some malicious JavaScript code (knowingly or unknowingly) - your account may be banned, and your website deleted.

No, we do not allow any PHP code on Mex.tl pages for security reasons. If you just add any PHP code it will not work.

When you sign up, you can pick a template that you like. It will become your design. You can always change the template later.

Yes. With Mex.tl, you can modify the design of your site as many times as you want.

All pages created and their content will be preserved and readjusted to the new selected design.

You can either choose a different "pre-made" template out of our library of templates or choose to design your own template, using our easy-to-use web design editor.

When you register with Mex.tl you can either choose a free domain name (e.g. yourname.mex.tl or yourname.webpin.com or others) or buy a premium domain name (e.g. yourname.com or yourname.com.mx).

You can also decide later if you want to upgrade your free domain to a premium domain later. This option is available from your admin panel: http://mex.tl/en/cd_buy.php

If you already own a domain name, you can use it with Mex.tl system.

To buy a new domain name, just go to Buy Domain page.

We accept all major forms of payments, such as PayPal, Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Bank Transfer, etc.

If you already own a domain name, you can still use it with Mex.tl system. Here is what you need to do:

1. Go to Move domain to mex.tl section and create an order.

2. After the payment goes through, the order will be processed by our staff. You will receive a notification.

3. Go to your domain name Registrar (where you bought your domain in the first place) and change DNS settings of your domain to:

PIMARY DNS:
IP: 67.228.186.21
Name: ns1.mex.tl

SECONDARY DNS:
IP: 67.228.186.22
Name: ns2.mex.tl

If you are not sure how to do it you can ask for assistance at the company that sold you the domain name. They must be able to help you.

Since we do not have control over your domain name, we can not change the DNS settings for you.

You will receive a notification by e-mail one month before expiration, that it is time to renew your service.

You can renew your domain or any other premium service in My renewals

No. If you first created a website with a free domain name (e.g. yourname.mex.tl) and later decided to upgrade it to a premium domain name (e.g. yourname.com or yourname.com.mx ) - all your content and design will be transfered to your new premium domain name. You will be able to edit content from the same admin panel, using the same account.

If you decide not to renew your premium domain name, you will lose it. However all the content and design will be saved and redirected to a free domain name that you oppened account with.

Yes. If you have one of the premium domain names, (e.g. yourcompany.com or yourcompany.com.mx, NOT yourcompany.mex.tl) you can have your own e-mail accounts, (e.g. yourname@yourcompany.com). If you do not have a premium domain name, you have to upgrade your domain first.

You can have up to 25 e-mail accounts and up to 1000 Mbs of space. You can check the plans here: http://mex.tl/es/email.php

To pay for our premium services, such as a premium domain name, e-mail accounts, removal of ads, etc. you can pay using these methods of payment:
